Quote from Jody

Quote from Jody:

"Tom dropped tacos all over me, and Alan poured beer on me, so basically it's been just another Belt-Rollenhagen reunion."    Love that!!

Yesterday was fun -- spent it taking the Gray Line tour bus around the city for a couple of hours, saw the sea lions at Fisherman's Wharf, toured the wax museum (creepy!), had lunch at a great seafood place on the Wharf, had cannoli in Little Italy (awesome!), and then the night tour of Alcatra -- no, I did not leave Alan there.

June 20 -- Happy Birthday, Paul and Janice

Happy birthday, Paul, and happy birthday, Janice!  We may be all the way across the country from you guys, but we're thinking of you!

Today's plan is to ride a trolley car, see Lombard Street, sight-seeing at Fisherman's Wharf, and the the night tour by ferry over to Alcatraz.  I might leave Alan there...

Post Wedding and Chinatown

So...yesterday, Alan and I met John, Sheena, and some of their groomsmen and girls for a post-wedding breakfast -- before heading back to the winery to help clean up the leftover boxes of booze and gifts, etc.  And, it's the last time we'll see the kids until....who knows when.  John will be deployed again soon -- two days after they return from their honeymoon -- July 12.  To the Phillipians this time.  BUT, until then, those two are going to have a great trip, I'm sure.  Can't tell you where yet, though, until John tells Sheena...which should be in just a couple of hours, when they arrive at LAX for the first leg of the trip...

Here are some shots taken yesterday at the post-wedding breakfast, then at Chinatown where we all had some dinner.

Bride and Groom!

Here's one taken by Jacole on her phone -- such happiness!

This was taken as they walked into the reception area, brought in by trolley after the ceremony in the vineyard.  Stunning!

Wedding! June 18th

I can't believe my "baby" is married!  And to the most beautiful woman...  To me, there was only one word to describe that wedding celebration -- fantastical!

I don't have as good as pictures of some because I was in the wedding, of course, and had to give my camera to another guest and just hope for the best.  Here are a few:

Spa Day, Tuesday June 18th

The morning of the wedding, while the guys all went golfing -- Dad, Alan, Russ, Jack, Tom, John, and all the groomsemen -- us girls went to a local spa and got nails, hair, and makeup done for the wedding.  Sheena brought in champagne and cheese and crackers and fresh fruit, and burritos!

Some pictures from the morning:

Monday, Winery Tour, June 17th

On Monday, we did a winery tour of three vineyards -- Buena Vista, Chateau St. Jean, and St. Francis.  It was such a blast!  The shuttle bus picked us up -- all 26 -- and it was a quiet "get to know your neighbor" type ride to Buena Vista.  By the time we got on the bus to go to the second winery, there was music playing on the bus, and the noise level had gone up considerably.  By the time we headed home after the third winery, Shannon was doing a "pole" dance and you couldn't hear yourself think on the bus!  We had so much fun!

And then there was rehearsal, and rehearsal dinner -- no pictures of that, I'm afraid.  It was too dark in the restaurant and way too many people, but fun!

Here are a few pictures from the winery tour:

Sunday, Father's Day June 16th

Whew...we're in San Francisco now -- pre-wedding stuff, wedding, and post-wedding clean-up and trip to San Francisco over.  Alan got the wireless hooked up in the hotel room, and went back to bed (of course), so let's see if I can get the pictures to load up for you. Here are some from Father's Day -- tux fitting and family picnic at Gundlach-Bundshu Winery in Napa, California:

I've got 14 pairs of underwear and 5 cookbooks...

Let's go!

We are gathering...like a mean storm

We are here!!  What an awesome room John got for us -- wow!  Anyway, traffic was horrendous all the way up through central California -- friggin' race car drivers.  Twelve plus hours on the road, but got in around 6:00 pm, unpacked the truck, and then headed straight over to Napa to meet up with Russ, Jacole, Grace and Jack at Tom and Carmen's house!  So fun!!  Everyone was exhausted but still so happy to see them.  Today will be great because everyone else arrives.  We tried calling Dad about a 100 times throughout yesterday, but he doesn't have his cell phone on.  If anyone talks to him, ask him to call Alan on his cell phone:  850-621-6810.  We weren't sure if he was coming into Napa last night or this morning.  Didn't get to see the bride and groom yet, but today is the day for tux fittings in Fairfield so we'll catch them then.  And try to find Dad...

I am not going naked!,

Yay! Found a dress yesterday, not the one I ordered, but it'll work.  From what I understand, Dad is somewhere in Utah, Alan and Julie on there'way and the Russ Belts left their house at 4 a.m. to get their flight.  Yech. For those of you who know Kiva, he severed a tendon in his left arm by putting his hand through a glass door, he's had surgery and should be fine in a few weeks.  Fifteen year old boys...........

Plugging in

Phone charger(s), Nook charger, camera charger, IPOD charger, laptop charger, hotspot and charger...what am I forgetting??   Piles of clothes set out and ready to go into the suitcase(s) -- just gotta get Alan organized.  THAT, in and of itself, is a full-time job.  I'll be running in 8 directions after work today to get all the last minute things done -- including picking up the Mother of the Groom's dress!!!   Can't wait to see how it looks all pressed and fitted.

I have the opposite problem, the dress that I ordered has been on back order for a month, guess I'm shopping this weekend.  I addition, Kiva will be occupying my "staging area" (ie the guestroom) until Sunday.  It will be a test of all my packing skills.  If all else fails, I guess I always have my Standard Black Dress.

What to wear, what to wear, what to wear...

Yikes!  I am currently buried in suitcases and piles of clothes and 86 pairs of shoes that I cannot decide between.  The cats are all sleeping in the empty suitcases that are open on the bed, and now I'm going to have to vacuum all the cat hair out before I can put the clothes in.  The house-sitter was here the other day to go over everything, and she literally backed out of the room -- she thought my closet had exploded.  Tonight is it -- I'm either going to finish this suitcase business or I'm just going to take the entire closet and toss it in the truck and decide when I get to California.  Come hell or high water, though, CALIFORNIA, HERE WE COME!
